The Best of Fall Bridal Bouquets
Autumn easily claims the title of our favorite season even though it's regrettably brief here in Calgary. The mesmerizing array of vibrant changing leaves truly gives this time of year an enchanting quality. Beyond the visual elegance, it's also the season that we finally get to use our cherished berries - snowberries! Are we the only ones in love with them?
This season showcases stunning local seasonal blooms like antique hydrangea, dahlias, zinnias, globe thistle, pieris, astilbe, and astrantia, among others. It's also the second busiest season for weddings, so it's never too early to start planning and considering your floral arrangements for a fall wedding!
Below are some of our favourite bridal bouquets our team has designed for fall weddings in Calgary, Banff, Canmore, and Central Alberta over the years.
Classic Autumn
Drawing inspiration from the changing leaves and colourful season is one of our favourite ways to design bouquets for fall. Toffee roses, dahlias, and zinnias are among some of our favourite and the most popular blooms for fall weddings. We love pairing these flowers with rudbeckia, snowberries, and hanging amaranthus for a warm autumn colour palette.
Autumnal Jewel Tones
Jewel toned wedding flowers are quickly becoming one of our absolute favourite ways to incorporate fun and playful colours into this season. With dahlias, thistles, scabiosa, and delphiniums still in their prime, we revel in the creative possibilities these splendid blooms offer, allowing us to craft a truly enchanting jewel-toned color scheme.
Orange Creamsicle
We adore bridal bouquets with varying shades of a single color. Selecting a main hue for your bouquet opens the door to playful combinations with other colors. These citrus-inspired bouquets truly captivate us and are perfectly fun for a fall wedding!
Toffee Tones
Toffee roses are always stunning in bridal bouquets. Here in the Prairies, we love that this tone compliments the changing colours of the landscape. Whether you choose to highlight this caramel hue with white or compliment it with similar shades you'll be in love with your bouquet!
A Range of Red
Don't feel as though you have to limit yourself to a traditional 'fall' colour palette when thinking about your florals. Have fun with it! There are so many beautiful colours to work with during this season, from dusty pinks and burgundy to plum and raspberry tones.
Elegant Ivories
With the backdrop of changing leaves, ivory is a stunning and elegant choice for your fall wedding. We love using White O'Hara garden roses, snowberries, phlox, waxflower, dahlias, pieris buds, and Quicksand roses for this soft and simple colour palette.
A Pop Of Colour
We love playing around with color no matter the season! Don't let the warmth of autumnal tones keep you from experimenting with fun splashes of color at your fall wedding. This season can be just as vibrant color-wise, and with so many lively blooms like echinops thistle, scabiosa, sunflowers, dahlias, nigella, phlox, sedum and cosmos offering their hues, it won't be hard to achieve.
Ebony Splendor
Deep and luxurious tones are stunning in any fall bridal bouquet. Adding a touch of ebony, or even a deep burgundy, to your fall florals is a striking way to make a statement. Although there are few blooms that are truly this dark, we love using black knight scabiosa, agonis, and burgundy dahlias to achieve this stunning look.
