This past weekend we spent two days at the lovely Castle in the Rockies, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel! Our bride and groom, Ellen and Charley, were from Dallas, Texas and all of their family and friends flew out for their destination wedding in Banff! The bride loves snow so a winter wedding in the Canadian Rocky Mountains was perfect! She also grew up taking family vacations to the Banff Springs Hotel, so it is a very special place to her. Julie from Rocky Mountain Weddings was the wedding planner and recommended us to the couple! It was a great fit as the bride's sister is named Janie and her maiden name is Flowers!
The mother of the groom was in contact with us a couple months prior to the wedding. She hosted the rehearsal dinner which took place in Mount Stephen Hall. The rehearsal dinner vibe was more rustic and woodsy with a table runner style greenery and floral garland yet also romantic with lots of taper and floating candles mixed in. We used ferns, Italian ruscus, Eucalyptus, cedar, ranunculus, eryngium, hyacinth, veronica and freesia blooms for this design. We wanted the rehearsal dinner along with the flowers and colours to be completely different from the wedding florals the following day. Rentals were sourced from Mountain Event Rentals.
The ceremony was originally planned for the outdoor Terrace however there was so much snow falling that plan B was put in place and the couple were married in the Riverview Lounge in front of large windows with views of the fall snowing!
The escort card table was set up in the Oval Room on a large round table featuring a statement floral arrangement in blush and white blooms with dozens of candles placed below it. Guests could take their name cards with table numbers before entering the cocktail hour.
The cocktail hour was held in the conservatory and the wedding reception was held in the Cascade Ballroom. The bride and her mother, Julie, wanted a very elegant, romantic and classic feel for the reception with a mix of tall and short centrepieces and loads of candlelight from pillar, taper and floating candles provided by Rocky Mountain Weddings. Ellen loves hydrangea and roses so they were the feature flowers in the wedding design. We also included ranunculus, lisianthus, spray roses and the most perfect white hypericum berries for added texture!
It was truly a beautiful, fairy tale wedding! A big congratulations to the happy couple!
Thank you to Tara Whittaker Photography who assisted in delivery and set up for this wedding and also captured these detail floral shots!

The above images were taken of the wedding ceremony in Riverview Lounge, the escort card table in the Oval Room and the wedding reception in the Cascade Ballroom at the Fairmont Banff Springs! Can we also take a minute to talk about the five tier white wedding cake with mountain designs on it created by Kake by Darci! It's truly a work of art which we're sure tasted just as incredible!
