Last fall we had the privilege of visiting and designing flowers at the newly opened Flores & Pine restaurant and wedding venue located in Bearspaw in Rocky View County northwest of Calgary.
The name Flores & Pine first caught my attention because "Flores" means flowers in Spanish, my husband's native language. However, the name Flores wasn't chosen because it means flowers by rather to honour Flores LaDue, the 'First Lady of the Calgary Stampede'. Flores was an accomplished roper and performer who traveled the world performing before settling in Alberta with her husband in 1912 and starting the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth- The Calgary Stampede. This power duo forever changed the history of Calgary with the legacy of the Stampede which brings the city together every year. Read more about Flores LaDue.
Flores & Pine is quickly becoming one of the most sought after Calgary wedding venues with their client's experience being their top priority!
What We Love About It
- The main event space, The Estate Room, has an upscale, elegant and modern feel to it. The white walls and wooden floors allow for any colour palette to work in this room. This spacious room can also host the ceremony and the reception for groups up to 100 guests for maximum comfort.
- We also love the outdoor patio complete with a fireplace. Those that have seen our work know how much we love to design florals on mantels and this one has loads of potential. We think the crackling of a fireplace is so romantic plus it makes for a great photo backdrop for your wedding portraits and photos with guests.
- They have a luxurious bridal suite at the venue with the most beautiful floral wallpaper (give us all the flowers) and soft seating to relax and get ready pre-wedding
- And how can we forget the food?! In one word it is incredible! Their chef-crafted menu focuses on sustainability and features locally sourced ingredients with seasonal dishes, delicious grilled cuisine and a delightful brunch. I have tried the Meatballs & Perogies, Moules Frites, Braised Short Ribs and other seasonal dishes and have never been disappointed. I enjoyed the food so much during this photoshoot that we held our staff Christmas party here and everyone raved about the food!
Other spaces such as The Grillroom and The Atrium offer additional spaces for hosting your wedding. Learn more about the different spaces you can rent for your wedding day here.
Below you'll find images from Rocky Mountain Photo Co. of The Estate Room and The Patio where we styled a photoshoot, led by Calgary wedding planner Moments by Madeleine. See how our fresh floral designs enhanced the already beautiful spaces both inside the Estate Room and at the outdoor patio ceremony set up. We hope the following video and images provide you with inspiration as your plan and design your wedding day at Flores & Pine.
