Sky Bistro Banff Mountaintop Wedding Venue

Looking for a unique mountain wedding venue in Banff to say I do? Sky Bistro, on the summit of Sulphur Mountain, is just the place! Sulphur mountain has an elevation of 2,451m (over 8,000 ft) and overlooks the town of Banff. The views are panoramic and quite magnificent from the outdoor terrace which seats up to 60 guests! You will have to take a gondola up to the top (unless you plan on hiking up), but the ride is smooth and you'll enjoy views of Banff as you go. This is the perfect Banff wedding venue if you are planning an intimate, destination wedding in the Canadian Rockies!

We had the opportunity to check out this wedding venue first hand during a rather cold February winter day. Even though it was cold (I think -20 Celsius at least), it was a  clear, sunny day for taking in fresh mountain air and enjoying the epic Canadian Rockies in all their glory!

The gondola staff were super helpful loading our supplies into their cargo gondola and then helping us fit the flowers into the public gondola car with us. It was the first time I'd been back up Sulphur Mountain since the renovations and I was pleasantly impressed with the charming restaurant, Sky Bistro, we found at the top.

Sky Bistro, with its epic views and culinary delights is sure to wow your guests and make for an unforgettable wedding day. Our creative team set up an indoor table design as well as an outdoor ceremony design to provide some winter wedding inspiration for anyone thinking about planning a Banff wedding. The moody colour palette which included champagne, vintage lavender, plum and ivory looked stunning against the blue/grey mountain backdrop. There was just enough wind to catch the veil for some gorgeous windswept veil images. For anyone wondering, yes the flowers did freeze outside, but they kept their colour and shape and looked absolutely incredible for the photos. For anyone dreaming of a mountain wedding you'll want to add this venue to your list!
