Lavender (Very Peri) Wedding Flower Varieties & Availability
A Few Notes on the Above Availability Chart
Above you can see images of many lilac-lavender coloured flowers and their availability. When possible, our studio tries to source flowers locally from flower farms in Alberta and British Columbia. The flowers listed as "year round" are generally imported from South America, the USA and Holland, though may also be imported from Israel and Kenya.
Some of the flowers listed as "summer florals" can also fall into other categories but are locally available during the summer months. Stock (matthiola) is available year round but generally looks the best when sourced locally in spring and summer. Lavender/periwinkle hydrangea are generally available from British Columbia in the summer and take on more antique shades in the fall. Agapanthus can also be locally sourced in summer. There are additional blooms that we rarely use that also come in lavender such as ageratum, alstromeria, campanula and genista milka. There are also artificially dyed lavender/purple flowers and foliage available that are not listed. Our studio only uses natural colours to avoid staining and dyes that are harmful to the environment.
Due to their fragility with shipping it is usually best to source lilacs, sweet peas, poppies, dahlias, cosmos and blue lace flowers locally unless they can be shipped in a water source.
Please keep in mind that even though these flowers have their season or are available year round, environmental factors such as pests, climate, and even the pandemic have made some of these blooms harder to source.
As a wedding florist we have your best interests at heart and will try our hardest to source specific varieties though we can not guarantee them. As can be seen above, the Very Peri colour palette has a large number of floral varieties and there will be something gorgeous for your wedding no matter the time of year.
Trust your wedding florist and floral magic will happen!
Very Peri Floral Inspiration
Very Peri is a red violet infused with blue hues which provides endless possibilities for colour palettes and flower varieties to make it pop. On the colour wheel purple is situated between the warmth of red and the coolness of blue. Due to its position on the colour wheel and because purple is a combination of two extremes in emotional temperature (hot and cold) this lavender hue can be used to make your florals feel warmer or cooler depending on the feelings and emotions you'd like them to evoke.
We'd love to help you choose the best colour palette and florals for your wedding day. Keep scrolling for more inspiration from designs our team has created! Each photo shows which Very Peri lavender blooms were used in each bouquet along with the overall colour palette used in each design.
