First Look at Moraine Lake

Erin and Matthew traveled from Chicago to get married in our beautiful Canadian rockies on September 1, 2018. Their first look photos took place at Moraine Lake at sunrise with hair and makeup starting at 4am by the lovely ladies at Something Borrowed Beauty! It was a chilly first look and there was definitely snow on the mountains and a few falling flakes. The intimate wedding ceremony took place on a cliff overlooking the breathtaking views of Lake Peyto. They held their small reception with close family and friends from Illinois and Florida at Chuck's Steak House in Banff. Following the picturesque wedding, the couple later traveled around Alberta and BC for their honeymoon!

We had ever only communicated with Erin and Matthew by phone and email but met them the day before the wedding when they came to pick up their wedding flowers. They were the sweetest couple and thanked me about a million times for their flowers! Our floral studio only takes on a handful of elopements and intimate weddings as we have a minimum spend and typically focus on larger weddings and events.  Erin and Matthew chose our Designers Choice option (read more here) and so we were able to accommodate their smaller floral request. It was quite simple, they chose the colour palette, which was swoon worthy, and we chose the blooms and recommended vase styles. It all came together seamlessly and the photos by Banff wedding photographer Brittany Esther are simply amazing!
