Anemone...can you pronounce it? Anemone means "windflower" in Greek, coming from the word anemoi (Greek wind gods). They look similar to a poppy but are actually a member of the Ranunculeaceae family (ranunculus are another popular wedding bloom). This non- scented, papery bloom is captivating brides with it's unique beauty. The "Panda Anemone" white with a deep navy, almost black velvety center might just be the "it" flower for 2019 brides as we are getting more requests for it than any other bloom (though ranunculus + peonies are a close second)! Traditionally the Panda Anemones have been winter flowers with peak production between October to May. Typically used in winter and early spring weddings, they are now available year round due to production in both the northern and southern hemispheres. The price might be a little more if you'd like them in your summer bouquet but the option is there!
Take a look at our favorite Panda Anemone bouquets and arrangements from 2018 and let us know if you plan to include them in your wedding floral design!
