Weddings in the Canadian Rocky Mountains are some of our absolute favorites! What can beat pristine lakes, waterfalls, enchanting wildlife and mountain vistas? The only thing that just might be better than that is WINTER in the rockies! There is something so magical about falling snow on your wedding day, like being in your own perfect snow globe! Winter weddings in the Canadian rockies are extra romantic, quaint and cozy as they are usually smaller, intimate weddings with the closest of family and friends. The photos from winter weddings in the rockies are spectacular and it's a nice escape for you and your guests from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wedding guests can enjoy skiing, snow shoeing, skating or sipping hot chocolate by the warm fire. We definitely recommend saying I Do in the mountains!
Below we've highlighted our three favorite Rocky Mountain winter weddings from 2017 (so far...). Two took place at Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, BC located in Yoho National Park (if you'd never been, it is a must see any time of year!) and the last wedding took place at Storm Mountain Lodge in Banff National Park. These photos, by some incredible photographers, Kingdom Come Photography, Orange Girl and Darren Roberts, will leave you dreaming of a white mountain wedding! We also love how they captured the flowers created by our team at Flowers by Janie!
Happy winter wedding planning!
The photos above were captured by Canmore wedding photographer Joel of Kingdom Come Photography of Ashley and Peter's intimate winter wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge.
Kirstie of Orange Girl, a well known Banff wedding photographer, sure knows how to capture winter weddings! She is a big fan of colour and knows how to photograph vivid blooms against the wintery mountain landscapes. The photos of Kathleen and Scott's winter wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge are definitely breathtaking!
Last but not least, Sonja and Daniel celebrated a winter wonderland wedding this past February at Storm Mountain Lodge. Calgary wedding planners Simply Sisters picked up the flowers from our Calgary floral studio and transported them to the lodge. They completed the set up of the table garlands adding in elegant candlelight to the tablescape. Darren Roberts was the photographer behind these impressive winter wedding photos!
